Tragically, Payne Stewart’s life was cut short on October 25, 1999. He, along with five others, including fellow professionals, was on a private Learjet traveling from Orlando, Florida, to Dallas, Texas. The aircraft suffered a rapid loss of cabin pressure, incapacitating everyone on board. It ultimately crashed in South Dakota, claiming all lives on board.
