Peter Obi wins Lagos, shredding Bola Tinubu’s toga of invincibility in Nigeria’s heartbeat

In a stunning upset, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, defeated Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, effectively ending the latter’s long reign in the state.

According to the results of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mr Obi won a hotly contested race against Mr Tinubu, a former two-time state governor in the country’s commercial hub who has long prided himself on being the invincible leader.

According to the final results released by the electoral commission, Mr Obi received 582,454 votes for the Labour Party, while Mr Tinubu received 572,606 votes for the APC. Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party finished third in the exercise.
