A photo of the police officer who allegedly shot dead a female lawyer, Bolanle Raheem, on Christmas Day in the Ajiwe region of Lagos state, has gone viral.
The snapshot was uploaded on Twitter by Nigerian lawyer Inibehe Effiong. He identified the officer as ASP Ayuba.
According to Xorlali.com, the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) allegedly killed the lawyer as she was driving with her husband in the Ajah district of the state.
The Ajah Police Station’s trigger-happy officer and his crew were alleged to have attempted to halt Raheem, who was with members of her family. Raheem was shot by a police officer and sent to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Effiong captioned the photo;
“This is ASP Ayuba, the rogue policeman at Ajiwe Police Station, Ajah that murdered a pregnant lawyer, Mrs. Bolanle Raheem, on Christmas day while the victim was returning from Church with her husband. We were at the station this morning and paid a condolence visit to the family.”
Meanwhile, the Lagos police command spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin said that the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and two others have been arrested for investigation.

Hundeyin wrote;
“Unfortunate and avoidable incident that was. The ASP that shot and two others with him have since been taken into custody. They are to be moved to the SCID for further investigation.”
