Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has put to rest rumors of friction between himself and Vinícius Júnior, stating that he “can’t imagine” Los Blancos without the Brazilian winger.
Mbappé, who joined the Spanish giants from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, has quickly settled into life at the Bernabéu. However, questions have lingered over how he and Vinícius would coexist in the same attacking setup.
Despite earlier reports suggesting that Vinícius could be on his way out—with Saudi Arabian clubs expressing interest—the Brazilian forward is now expected to extend his contract with Real Madrid.
In an interview with La Sexta, Mbappé addressed the speculation and praised his teammate:
“The relationship [with Vini] is good. It’s normal that people talk because we’re two high-profile players who can make an impact. But I came to Real Madrid with the idea of playing alongside him.”
“I can’t imagine Madrid without Vini. I’ve always had the desire to play with him. We combine well on the pitch.”
With both forwards hitting top form, Real Madrid fans can now look forward to a fearsome attacking partnership as they chase domestic and European success.
