In a shocking development, Reverend Israel Eshun, founder of God Host Favour Chapel and operator of Yesu Agyemie Herbal Centre, has been arrested for allegedly burying his deceased two-year-old son in secret.
According to reports, Rev. Eshun buried the child inside a room within the church premises without informing his wife or any family members. The heartbreaking incident has stunned residents and especially his wife, Mrs. Christian Marcathy, popularly known as Maame Ama, who is currently eight months pregnant.
Mrs. Marcathy revealed that their son had been admitted to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, where doctors advised the family to take the boy home to spend his final moments surrounded by loved ones. However, upon returning home ahead of the family, Rev. Eshun reportedly found the child had passed away — and decided to bury him without informing his wife.
Maame Ama only discovered the truth after persistently asking about her son’s whereabouts. The pastor eventually led her to the room where he had buried the child.
After the incident was reported to the police, Rev. Eshun allegedly attempted to flee. He was later arrested when he returned to the premises to retrieve some belongings. During police interrogation, the reverend minister confessed to secretly burying the boy without notifying anyone.
Adding to the distressing situation, Mrs. Marcathy has accused her husband of physically abusing her throughout her pregnancy. She claims to have previously reported the abuse to neighbours and the police, though no concrete action was taken until now.
The case has sparked widespread outrage online and among local residents, who are demanding justice for the grieving mother and the deceased child.
