Since joining Man City in 2011, the Argentine striker, who was nicknamed Kun by his grandfather as a child, has been on the top goal scorers table every season. Agüero began his professional career as a member of the Argentine Independiente. He became the youngest player to play in the Argentine Primera División on his debut on July 5, 2003, at the age of 15 years and 35 days, beating Diego Maradona’s 1976 record.
For a cost of €23 million, he transferred to Atlético Madrid in La Liga in 2006.
He distinguished himself as one of Europe’s top young players during his time at Real Madrid, winning the Don Balón Award, Tuttosport Golden Boy, and World Soccer Young Player of the Year. In 234 games for Atlético, he scored 101 goals and won the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup.
Agüero joined Manchester City of the Premier League for an undisclosed amount in the region of £35 million in July 2011.
