‘The Bachelorette’ finale: Tino Franco cheats on Rachel Recchia after engagement

Following Tino Franco’s revelation of cheating on his new fiancée, Rachel Recchia, in Tuesday night’s stressful ending, “The Bachelorette” delivered one of the most dramatic season finales ever.

After watching Tino Franco propose to Rachel Recchia and swear to spend the rest of his life with her, Franco admits to infidelity.

“I messed up, and I kissed another girl,” the general contractor, 28, told the flight instructor, 26, during an emotional confrontation. “The second I did, I knew I belonged with you, and this was the tiniest thing ever, so I just tried to … get past it,” he explained.

Recchia prodded Franco for more information, and he said that he kissed a lady he met before appearing on the ABC reality show, but that they “never went on a date.”

Franco then pulled out a journal in which he detailed his post-show chats with Recchia about her desire to return her engagement ring, perhaps attempting to blame the “Bachelorette” co-star as their relationship gradually deteriorated.

Recchia then begged her fiancé to “speak the truth,” claiming she “strongly” thought he had simply kissed the other woman. Recchia proclaimed that she was “done” with Franco and removed her ring while he sobbed.

Following a commercial break, the former couple met for the first time since their on-screen breakup. Franco apologized once more, telling Recchia that he couldn’t “imagine what [she was] going through” and thanking her for “always” been “so lovely” to him.

“You were amazing, and you didn’t deserve what I did,” he confessed, acknowledging that his “mistake was not [her] fault.”

Recchia told Franco that there was “absolutely no explanation” for what he did in front of her family. “You destroyed my heart,” the former “Bachelor” contestant said, calling the California native’s behavior “inexcusable.”

Franco had been a front-runner since the start of Season 19 and even got the coveted first impression rose at the July premiere.

Recchia and Franco faced a snag when his parents refused to approve of the romance during the show’s hometown dates in August.
