At The Game Awards 2022, the best games of the year were honored. Al Pacino, Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Josef Fares, Ken and Roberta Williams, Keegan-Michael Key, Jessica Henwick, and Aurora all made appearances, and Halsey and Hozier both performed.
“God of War Ragnarok” got the most nominations, but “Elden Ring” won the most awards that night, including game of the year, best game direction, best art direction, and best role-playing game. A crasher took the stage and thanked “reformed orthodox rabbi Bill Clinton,” which took some of the shine off of the FromSoftware team’s win.
After the ceremony was over, host Geoff Keighley tweeted, “The person who interrupted our game of the year moment has been arrested.”
Even without the crashers, the ninth annual event was full of surprises, such as first looks at “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” “Street Fighter 6,” “Final Fantasy XVI,” “Dune Awakening,” “TEKKEN 8,” “Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty,” and many more.
