Who is Tyrus?
Tyrus is his stage name, he is called George Murdoch. Tyrus is a National Wrestling Alliance member, and he is the league’s current World Television Champion. He had previously competed for WWE and Impact Wrestling under the names Tyrus and Brodus Clay, respectively.
Early career
Tyrus was assigned to Deep South Wrestling (DSW), a WWE-developing territory, after signing a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He made his professional wrestling debut in September 2006 and immediately started going by the ring moniker G-Rilla and embracing the persona of a street thug.
On September 7, he defeated Big Bully Douglas in a dark match on his debut for the promotion. The next month, G-Rilla joined Eric Pérez and Sonny Siaki’s tag team Urban Assault as their enforcer. However, he engaged in a conflict with The Bag Lady, which prevented Urban Assault from competing on October 26 against Brian and Brett and The Major Brothers for the DSW Tag Team Championship.
Tyrus educational background
Tyrus first enrolled at Antelope Valley College in 1992 after graduating from Los Angeles County’s Quartz Hill High School in 1990. He began attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 1995 and began his teaching preparation there. During his time at college, he played football. He, however, has claimed that the surgery to repair a ruptured appendix caused the nerves leading to his leg to be severed, ruining his football career and leaving him with a limp that would not go away.
Tyrus mother and father: Where are they now?
His mother is white and his father is black. He has claimed that when he was born, his mother was 15 years old and his father was 19 years old. In 2018, Tyrus revealed a childhood incident in which his violent father hit him, damaging his eye. This incident prompted his mother to leave his father.
Tyrus has said that despite his mother returning to her parent’s house, he and his brother were not welcomed since their father was a person of color. Tyrus claims that he and his brother spent many years living with a foster family. During this time, Tyrus was “obsessed” with changing his skin color because he believed that doing so would allow him to be reunited with his family. Tyrus and his brother finally moved back in with their mother, but Tyrus fled at the age of 15.
