About UHAS

UHAS was established in December 2011 by an act of parliament as a public university to train health care professionals, UHAS however began operating in August 2012.

The University started operations with 154 students. Students’ population currently stands at about 3,752, while the staff strength is 611. Staff to student ratio in UHAS also is 17:1, which is currently the best among all state universities in Ghana.

UHAS Courses And Cut Off Points

E8 is accepted in UHAS. This is because, the Minister of State in charge of Tertiary Education, Professor Kwesi Yankah has suggested that students who get D7 and E8 in their final exams, should be considered in University admissions.
