The Vice President of Ghana Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has lost his mother, Hajia Mariama Bawumia at the age of 81 years today 13th September 2021.
This sad new was announced by Asaase Radio via a post sighted by xorlali.com on their Facebook page today Monday September 13, 2021, that the Vice President’s mother had passed away.
This is what was posted on Facebook;
“Vice President H.E Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s mother passed away this morning. She had been unwell for a few weeks and had been hospitalized. May Allah admit her to Jannah, Inalillahi wa ina ilaihi raji’un.”
The news was confirmed by the Vice President himself on his social media handles with a picture of the mother and the below caption;
“STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF HAJIA MARIAMA BAWUMIA
Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un (Indeed to Allah we belong, and to Allah we shall return.)
It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved mother Hajia Mariama Bawumia.
Hajia Mariama passed away peacefully this morning in Accra. Burial is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday September 14, 2021 in Walewale.
May the Almighty Allah grant her Jannatul Firdaus.

VICE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA”
However Hajia Mariama, was born on September 15, 1939, and died at the age of 81. She passed away just two days before her 82nd birthday.
