The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the provisional results for the first series of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates.
According to a press statement issued on March 28, a total of 12,452 candidates sat for the examination. Among them, 5,269 were male, while 7,998 were female. However, 738 registered candidates did not take the exams.
WAEC also revealed that some candidates were involved in examination malpractice. As a result, the subject results of 34 candidates and the entire results of 43 candidates have been withheld pending further investigations.
Candidates can check their results online via WAEC’s official portal at https://ghana.waecdirect.org/.
Additionally, WAEC has cautioned candidates, parents, and guardians to beware of fraudsters who claim to upgrade results for a fee. The council reassured the public that its database is secure and advised institutions to verify results only through the official WAEC website.
