A group, Coalition of Newly Recruited Teachers (CNRT) has issued a press release to express their displeasure towards the MoE and the GES over the delay in the issuance of their staff IDs.

According to the group, the government issued financial clearance for newly posted teachers on the 19th November, 2021. Appointment letters were further released on the 21st January, 2022 effective, 1st February, 2022.

However, they bemoaned that, after the issuance of their financial clearance, “about 80% of the newly posted teachers have not recieved their staff IDs let alone their salaries”.

They further added that; “Most newly recruited teachers depend on their parents for survival due to their delayed salaries, however, the GES expect them to be showing up for work everyday apparently unaware of the irony”.

They hinted that, if the delay persists, they will seek another alternatives to quench their hunger and thirst.
