Award-winning Ghanaian songstress, Afropop, and Afrobeat singer Wendy Asiamah Addo known by the name Wendy Shay grabs an HND in Business and Marketing Management. Wendy shay hails from the Eastern region of Ghana but relocated to Stuttgart, Germany with her three siblings after the death of their father.
Wendy Shay is a trained nurse by profession, worked as a midwife in the clinical field. She was practicing midwifery until she relocated to Ghana to pursue her music career. She was officially signed in January 2018 by Ruff town records manager Ricky Nana Agyeman popularly known as Bullet after she was introduced to music.
The Afro-pop and the Afrobeat singer released her first debut single”Uber Driver” on 1st June 2018 which was produced by the sound engineer MOG Beats. The song was released together with the official video the same day. After her first hit song, the songstress is doing tremendously well in the music industry of which she had released a couple of hits songs that feature a lot of top artists in Ghana and beyond. Some of her hits songs are Bedroom Commando, Astalavista, Masakra, Heat.
Wendy Shay has performed at several events including Miss Ghana 2018 finals, RTP awards, Africa 2018, Afro-nation Music Festival Ghana in December 2019. The award-winning songstress has bagged a lot of awards of which some are Ghana – Naija showbiz awards, Ghana music Awards SA, Eastern Music Awards, 3 music awards, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Ghana music awards UK.
Wendy Shay is a brand ambassador for the Youth Employment Agency in Ghana. It was rumored about Wendy Shay being sacked as the Brand Ambassador for the Youth Employment Agency but later was confirmed that she is still the ambassador.
Wendy Shay has made her family, friends, and fans proud by grabbing an HND certificate in Business Marketing and Management at the Concord University. She shared some beautiful photos from the congregation which captured her manager, Bullet, and other friends and family members.
She said she was pushed to go back to school because there were no performances during the corona pandemic era which was accompanied by the lockdown. She posted her picture on tweeter with the caption, ” During the lockdown in 2020 there were no performances for musicians so decided to study and today I graduated with HND in Business and Marketing Management.
