Who is Abi Phillips?

Abi Phillips, the Hollyoaks actress, has revealed that she has thyroid cancer. The 28-year-old actress plays Liberty Savage in the Channel 4 serial. After noticing two lumps in her neck and getting them tested, she disclosed her news on Instagram. She shared the heartbreaking news on social media.

“So, I took these pictures before my scans and after my biopsy having a good old laugh about how ridiculously dressed up I looked in the hospital before a gig, not expecting for one moment to get the news that I did two weeks later.”

“I’d previously been sent away from the doctors after having found two lumps in my neck, they’d passed it off and said I was ‘young’ and it wouldn’t be anything and I was ‘probably getting over a cold’ or my body was ‘fighting something off’.

Who is Abi Phillips?

Abi Phillips is an English actress and model. She is best known for her role as Carmel McQueen in the British Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks.

Phillips was born on born 14 January 1994 in Bromley, London, to a Welsh father and English mother. Her father was a professional footballer who played for Watford F.C., Crystal Palace F.C., and Barnet F.C.

Phillips attended The Arts Educational School in Tring Park, Hertfordshire from the age of 11 years old until she graduated at 18 years old with a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts (Drama).

She is well known for her role as Liberty Savage in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks and her breakout track “Summer Sunshine.” Phillips’ major break came when she wrote the song “Missing You” for the Hollyoaks soap show.

The song rose to prominence after it was featured in the scene in which the character Steph Cunningham died. Phillips was inspired to write the song after hearing Steph’s tale about her battle with cervical cancer.

He then emailed it to the show, where it was used. After the song received a lot of great attention, Hollyoaks executives scheduled a meeting with Phillips. They then invited her to audition for the role of Liberty, a musical character they had been developing for some time.
