Gautam Adani became a billionaire on the 3rd April 2022 after the list of billionaires in the world by Forbes was released. According to the Forbes billionaire list Gautam Adani who is an Indian and is the richest man in Asia surpassed Mukesh Ambani, with a net worth of US$103.4 Billion (Rs.7,90,000 Crores).
The only non-Americans with fortunes worth at least $100 billion are French businessman Bernard Arnault, chairman of luxury goods group LVMH (LVMHF), and Adani. Many billionaires saw their fortune surge as stock markets soared around the world during the pandemic, but Adani’s earnings were unique.
The Adani Group’s 59-year- old founder controls businesses ranging from ports and aerospace to thermal energy and coal, and his fortune has increased by about $900 billion in just two years. Some Adani companies’ stock has increased by more than 1000% since June 2022, indicating that investors are confident in the billionaire industrialist’s ability to invest in sectors like infrastructure and renewable energy. These are critical to prime minister Narendra Modi’s economic development goals.
According to Bloomberg, Adani is now the world’s 10th richest man, slightly ahead of fellow Indian Mukesh Ambani, who is worth $99 billion.
