Will Smith stormed the Oscars stage after presenter Chris Rock made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith‘s hairstyle. Jada Pinkett’s hair was compared by comedian Chris Rock to that of G. I. Jane, who has a shaved head.
Pinkett Smith has alopecia, a hair loss condition. Since revealing her alopecia diagnosis in 2018. It’s not the first time Chris Rock has mocked Jada. In 2016 he did the same.
Will Smith, on the other hand, stormed the stage and slapped him.
Shocked, Chris said: “Wow, Will Smith just smacked the s**t out of me.”
As Smith returned to his seat, he shouted: “Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth.”
“That was the greatest night in the history of television,” Rock said as he then presented the award for best documentary.

Will Smith went on to win Best Oscar for Male Performance, the first of his career but his behaviour earlier has overshadowed the big win because the altercation is what everyone is talking about.
Will Smith did apologise for the incident during his Oscars acceptance speech and said he was tired of the constant abuse he and his family receive.
The LAPD has since released a statement saying they have not acted because Chris Rock has not filed charges yet. And it looks like he has no plans to do so.
