Madam Jean Mensa was born on November 12th, in Accra, to a Ga-Adangbe and Fante parents. She is half Ga-Adangbe from Ada in the Greater Accra Region and half Fante from the Central Region.
She had her basic school education at Accra Ridge Church School and continued to St. Mary’s Senior High School — an all-girls school — located at Korle Gonno in Accra for her senior high school education.
She was admitted to the University of Ghana, Faculty of Law, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (abbreviated LL.B) degree in 1993. Madam Jean Mensa was called to the Bar in 1996. She also attended the Harvard Business School in 2018.
