The Tema Regional Office of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) held a prestigious awards ceremony at the Alisa Hotel in Tema to recognize the trailblazers of Ghana’s tourism industry. With a theme centered on “Celebrating Innovation and Recognizing Excellence,” the event brought together the brightest individuals and organizations in tourism, rewarding their innovation and commitment to excellence.
The event, which honored 21 outstanding contributors to the tourism sector, was a celebration of both innovation and the consistent delivery of high-quality service. Plaques and citations were awarded to deserving individuals and businesses, marking their invaluable contributions to the growth of Ghana’s tourism industry.
Mrs. Gifty Offeibea Senanu, Acting Tema Regional Director of GTA, delivered a powerful keynote speech, emphasizing that the future of Ghana’s tourism hinges on innovation but also highlighted that true excellence goes beyond creativity.
“We celebrate not only the remarkable contributions of individuals and businesses but also the critical role of innovation and excellence in our industry,” she said. Mrs. Senanu acknowledged Ghana’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and warm hospitality but added that it is innovation that transforms these attributes into world-class attractions.
“Excellence goes beyond innovation; it’s about consistency, quality, and the desire to exceed expectations,” she added, emphasizing that every nominee and winner at the event has demonstrated both creative capabilities and an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional service.

As the night drew to a close, the message was clear: Ghana’s tourism industry is at a turning point, and its future rests on the ability of stakeholders to embrace innovation and strive for excellence in every aspect of their work.
