The Tour Operators Union of Ghana (TOUGHA) received prestigious recognition for their efforts in transforming the country’s tourism industry at the National Tourism Awards last night. TOUGHA was presented with the award for Trade Association Contribution to Sector Development at a ceremony held at the Accra International Conference Centre.

“What a triumphant and glorious way to end the year! It was a surreal moment last night as the Tour Operators Union of Ghana,” said Alisa Osei Asamoah, President of TOUGHA, in remarks after accepting the award. This latest and perhaps most prestigious accolade marks the culmination of our drive to shape Ghana’s tourism agenda over the past few years. The timing couldn’t have been better than receiving this honor on our country’s biggest tourism night.”

Asamoah expressed gratitude to the Ghana Tourism Authority for the award and praised her “executive team for their exceptional continued leadership in driving our Union to enviable heights.” She also thanked individual TOUGHA members “who have shown grit and dedication to transforming the Union into a formidable force in Ghana’s tourism industry.”

“This win is for us all. TOUGHA! Indeed, we are the professionals,” Asamoah added.

TOUGHA, an association of over 15 years that offers both inbound and outbound tour services in Ghana, was recognized as “Best Association in Tourism” just this past June by the Business Executive Excellence Awards. Over the years, TOUGHA has actively contributed to tourism development and elevating industry standards.
