Matthew Opoku Prempeh was born on May 23, 1968, in Ashanti New Town, a suburb of Kumasi, however, he hails from Pakyi No.2 in the Ashanti Region. Dr. Opoku Prempeh attended KNUST Primary and later enrolled at Prempeh College, both located in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh pursued Human Biology and Medicine studies at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
A student-politician, he held the position of local NUGS President at KNUST twice. Dr. Opoku Prempeh continued his academic journey by obtaining a Master’s in Clinical Epidemiology from the Netherlands Institute of Health Sciences.
