The U.S. Embassy in Accra has officially transitioned to a new visa services provider, effective August 16, 2024. This change means that the previous provider’s website and services are no longer accessible. Despite the shift, current nonimmigrant visa interview appointments remain valid under the new system, as confirmed by Graphic Online.

To continue with their visa applications, applicants must now visit the new visa service provider’s website to create a user account. This account will be essential for updating DHL delivery preferences and managing other aspects of the visa process. It is important to note that appointment availability may be limited and is subject to demand.

Additionally, the U.S. Embassy highlighted the release of the Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery results on May 6, urging participants to check their status through the provided official link. The Embassy also cautioned applicants to be wary of potential scams during this process.

The Diversity Visa Program, which was open for registration from October 4 to November 7, 2023, offers winners the opportunity to gain permanent residency in the United States, commonly known as a green card. Over 50,000 applicants will be granted permanent residence through this program. However, the Embassy warns that applicants could be disqualified for providing false information or for being from ineligible countries.
