Photos of the army officer who overthrew the president of Burkina Faso has emerged online and many are calling him the second Doumbouya.
On Monday 24th January there was news that a group of people who were identified as military men took over Burkina Faso and closed all border and has overthrown President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré.
The coupe took place after President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré failed to help the military men with weapon to fight Islamic jihadist. However according to an address made by the army on television the coupe was a non violent one and that everyone is safe.
They declared that the country’s government and parliament had been dissolved henceforth.
They also said they had closed the country’s borders and promised a “return to constitutional order” within a “reasonable time”.
