The honourable Member of Parliament for North-Tongu constituency, Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has expressed disappointment in Government’s approach to effectively and transparently monitor revenue generated for the export of Oil and Gold.

He revealed on his social media outlet, on 20th December 2023, the reckless spending and absence of value for money in the government which in effect, is causing havoc to the country’s economy.

According to Mr Okudzeto, the government on behalf of the Akosombo Dam spillage victims had requested for a US$200,000 financial support from the Economic Community of West African State claiming there’s inadequate finance to support the victims.

“… they secretly apply to ECOWAS for US$200,000 supposedly for flood victims”, he alleged.

The legislator, in his reaction to the contract involving government and the Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited “at the same time, mastermind a lootocratic Strategic Mobilisation of US$100 million of our Revenues to Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML). God save our dear Republic.” Hon Okudzeto Ablakwa added.
