Ari Naftali Melber was born in Seattle, Washington, on March 31, 1980. He is an American journalist and attorney. Melber is the host of The Beat with Air Melber and serves as MSNBC’s top legal correspondent.
He completed his high school education at Seattle’s Garfield High School before enrolling in the University of Michigan to study political science for his Bachelor of Arts degree.
After completing his education, Melber moved right away to Washington, D.C., where he worked for Senator Maria Cantwell. He received his Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School, where he also served as the editor of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy.
The New York State Bar Association counts Melber as a member. He has received an Emmy Award for his coverage of the Supreme Court.
