A well-known Ghanaian pharmacist who doubles as a fellow with the Center For Democratic Development (CDD) Ghana, Dr. Kwame Asiedu Sarpong has urged the current flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to pick a credible running mate in order to restore some of his lost credibility.

In an exclusive interview on Abusua 96.5 FM, the Ghanaian health practitioner advised Dr. Bawumia to follow the footsteps of his superior, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, who selected him as running mate ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

According to him, Nana Addo chose Bawumia because he was an academic adept who had no known baggage at the time he was chosen as running mate.

In line with this fact, he has advised Dr. Bawumia to follow the footsteps of Nana Addo, by selecting a running mate who is not well-known in politics to come in with some credibility to cover his low level of credibility.

After being elected as the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to come out with a proposed name as his possible running mate twelve months before he contests for the presidential election per the constitution of his party.

Dr. Bawumia has indicated that he needs a little more time to continue with his consultation in order to submit a proposed name for the vacant position.
