Award-winning Ghanaian musician, Darlington Agyekum, popularly known in the entertainment circle as D Cryme, has advised Ghanaian Disc Jockeys (DJs) to find a creative way of promoting Ghanaian songs when playing songs during events.

According to D Cryme, DJs must find a creative way of mixing Ghanaian songs with Nigerian music which is currently on high demand at numerous events.

Adding to this, the Kill Me Shy hitmaker stated that despite the high demand for Nigerian music, DJs must still find a way to chip in Ghanaian songs even when people request for songs produced by Nigerian-based musicians as well artists from other parts of the African continent.

In an exclusive interview with Amanda Krakye on Cape Coast-based Property FM, the Koko Sakora hitmaker said, there is need for DJs to set up an agenda that will ensure the promotion of both Ghanaian and foreign music.

He added that, Ghanaian DJs shouldn’t stop playing Ghanaian songs simply because the masses or some foreigners are demanding for songs from other parts of the country to be played at events.

Citing an example to back his claim, he stated that, a DJ can strategically mix a Nigerian song with a Ghanaian tune, by simply mixing a Ghanaian song with the beat of a Nigerian song to ensure equal promotion of both Ghana and Nigerian music.
