Sports journalist, Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo has questioned the Ghana Football Association and Ministry of Youth and sports for their unyielding positive results in Ghana’s football

The renowned sports journalist, Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo has revealed the actual amount, Ghana gained after participating at the 2022 FIFA world which took place in Qatar.

“Ghana got US$7.9 million from our participation at the FIFA World cup in Qatar.”

Mr Fentuo Tahiru further stipulated how the total amount gained from FIFA was disbursed between the Ghana Football Association and the government of Ghana.

“That money arrived in June 2023. US$2.5 million of it was given to GFA to build a Qatar Legacy project and the state kept US$5.4 million to offset cost they incurred from qualifiers to participation.” He said

However, Mr Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo burst out loud, inciting means through which the Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Youth and sports collaborated to seek for an outrageous amount to be utilized at the 2023 African cup of nations.

“Six months later, the ministry and the GFA went back to the Ministry of Finance to ask for US$8.5 million to go and play Afcon; more than everything we got from participating at the World Cup. In six months, we have finished the money and are eating into more of our taxes. All on Black stars.” He stated
