The member of Parliament for the good people of south-Daye constituency and a member of the parliamentary Affairs committee has revealed an unaccounted US$2 million spending made by the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund to an SPV incoperated in Mauritius.

Further, the law maker revealed that, his source was from the Parliamentary Account Committee, During which the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund representatives could not provide account on how the US$2 million was spent with respect to the Sky Train project.

“Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund cannot account for the $2 million it paid in February 2019 to an SPV incorporated in Mauritius to set up the Accra Sky Train project. Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund acquired 10 ordinary shares for a US$1 each but paid a premium of US$199,999 for each of those shares. Parliamentary Account Committee hearings just revealed”

The member of Parliament, Hon Rockson Dafeamekpor expressed his displeasure on how GIIF couldn’t account for their spending. He iterated that, the reckless borrowing of the government of the day should be stopped and by all legal means, the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund should refund the money into government accounts if the money can’t be accounted for properly.
