The honourable member of Parliament for North Tongu , Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa prior to the displacement of some of his constituents as a result of the Akosombo Dam spillage has been able to initiate the Safe Alternative Housing Project.

The focus of this wondrous initiative aims at accommodating all the flood victims to a hospitable environment which wouldn’t pose any form of dangers to the displaced persons in North-Tongu who were formerly residing in the Mepe St.Kizito senior high school over the weeks.

Further, the legislator, Hon Okudzeto Ablakwa has expressed his utmost pleasure on the fact that the Safe Alternative Housing Project has given prime concern to both children and women.

“It really gladdens my heart that in the allocation of rooms under our Safe Alternative Housing Project, priority has been accorded to women and children. 90 percent of the present occupants are mothers and children,” He said.

Hon Okudzeto Ablakwa in his submission further acknowledge and expressed gratitude to all individuals who issued a dime to support his constituents during this trying moments.

Further, Hon.Ablakwa also iterated that, he supervised a fumigation excercise at the St. Kizito SHS which played a vital role as interim measures to accommodate displaced persons. However, the exercise serves as measures to reposition the schools in a better condition for all academic works to quickly start in the constituency.
