The member of Parliament for North Tongu constituency and a Ranking member on the foreign affairs committee in Parliament has petitioned the world bank to initiate probe into a project under taken by the ministry of communication.

Samuel Okudzeto on the 9 July,2023, made claims against the minister for communication, Ursula Ekuful-Owusu with respect to a Us$48 million contract awarded without the approval of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA).

The sector minister, Ursula rejected any wrong doings and went further to challenge the member of Parliament, Ablakwa to produce documents of the said contracts she had signed. The lawmaker produce all documents pertaining to the contract which Ursula Ekuful-Owusu rejected as a case of shifting goal post on the issue.

However, the reactions of the Minister of communication did not perturb Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. On 12 July,2023, Ablakwa published an official petition he had sent to to the world Bank a day prior requesting for an investigation “into the litany of irregularities, misrepresentation, insider dealing & conflict of interest relating to the US$48million Ascend Scandal & how that was used to fraudulently secure a US$49.5m WB funded eTransform project”.
