Palmer was born on August 26, 1993, in Los Angeles, California to parents Thomas Palmer and Kimberly Shappley. Her mother is African-American and her father is African-Jamaican.
Palmer started acting at age six when she appeared in a theater production of “The Lion King.” In 2003, she had a guest appearance on the television series “The Bernie Mac Show.” She went on to appear as a regular cast member from 2004 to 2008.
