Instead, she opted to venture forth as an independent artist.

In February 2016, Alyssa released her first single, “No More Talking.” She also collaborated with Lil Niqo, a fellow competitor from “The Rap Game,” on the 2016 single “Tough on the Internet.” In recognition of her talent, she was honored with the Youth Hip Hop/R&B Award at the 2016 Georgia Music Awards. On May 18, it was reported that her name on streaming platforms had been simplified to “Latt.” This change was initially observed in her guest appearance on Toosii’s album “Thank You for Believing,” where she was credited under her new name. The unveiling of her new name was accompanied by the release of a new single titled “The Biggest.”
