Ghana’s current Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has touted the NPP government led by Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo as the best in terms of the alleviation of unemployment in Ghana.
In a recent disclosure made Dr. Bawumia at the launch of the Business and Assistance Program spearheaded by the YEA, the NPP flagbearer stated the emergence of the event is clear evidence of the positive impact he and his government have made in term of employment for the youth.
Throwing more light on his disclosure, Dr. Bawumia said before the NPP came to power in 2016, there was massive unemployment in the country, a situation that led to the formation of the graduate unemployment association.
However, after taking over from opposition nine years ago, the situation of unemployment has seen a massive downturn as they have been able to recruit 2.1 million people into both the public and private sector.
According to him, being able to recruit such a large number of unemployed graduates is something they can confidently brag about.
Adding to this, he stated emphatically that no government in the history of Ghana has been able to recruit such a large number of people and that is a fact nobody can challenge.
