Ghanaian football legend, Odartey Lamptey has stated that playing for Ghana Premier League giants, Asante Kotoko was his only way of paying them back.

As his own way of showing gratitude for what some members of the club had done for him, Odartey Lamptey revealed that he decided to play for the Porcupine Warriors just to thank supporters of the football club for the love they showed him during the early stages of his football career.

According to him, a lot of big guys helped him during the early stages of his career and most of them were Kotoko fans and so he decided to play for the club just to show appreciation for what these ‘big boys’ did for him.

Odartey Lamptey signed a contract with Kumasi-based football club, Asante Kotoko for the 2005/2006 season and played under the management of the late E.K Afranie.

Despite his heroic football achievements, the Ghanaian player is only remembered for a DNA test which proved three kids he assumed were his biological children didn’t actually belong to him.
