Amber Heard And Johnny Depp

Amber Heard And Johnny Depp Trials are happening now. The trial, which had initially been due to end last Thursday, continues today, Wednesday 25 May 2022.

Johnny Depp is currently on trial for defamation against his ex-wife Amber Heard. In December 2018, Heard wrote an opinion piece for The Washington Post about her experiences as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”

“For women who speak out, I felt the full weight of our culture’s fury,” she wrote. “I had the unique opportunity to observe in real-time how institutions shield guys accused of sexual misconduct.”

She made no mention of her ex-husband or the other alleged perpetrators. However, in Depp’s case, these three sentences amount to defamation, which has “incalculably” harmed his career and reputation. In the case, the star’s lawyer stated, “The opinion piece-unmistakable insinuation that Mr Depp is a domestic abuser is completely and manifestly false.” “Her charges… are part of a sophisticated ruse designed to generate positive publicity for her.”

Jurors must “show by clear and compelling evidence” that Heard willfully fabricated false claims in order for Depp to win.
