After ten weeks of massive entertainment and votes in Big Brother Naija house, the BBNaija: Shine Ya Eye season comes to an end today Sunday, 3 October, 2021.
The season finale will be available for streaming at www.showmax.com and the Showmax app from 7pm WAT.
The six finalists are Angel, Cross, Emmanuel, Liquorose, Pere and White Money and they are all competing to win the ultimate prize of 90 million naira and bragging rights as the winner of the biggest reality show on the continent.
For the first time in the history of the show, fans in the UK got the chance to stream the show 24/7 this season via Showmax.
Since the start of the BBNaija: Shine Ya Eye season, the show has remained the most-watched title on the Showmax platform in Nigeria, Ghana and the UK. This is closely followed by the Showmax exclusive talk show, The Buzz, hosted by media personality, Toke Makinwa.
The Buzz has featured a host of celebrity guests through the season including BBNaija Season 4 winner Mercy Eke, Beat FM media personalities Toolz and Gbemi, and veteran comedian Basketmouth, who serves as Executive Producer for Showmax’s forthcoming comedy-drama, Ghana Jollof.
After the season finale on Sunday, the Shine Ya Eye winner and the top 5 will get the chance to have a no-holds-barred chat with Toke on their time in the house and their lives post-BBN on a special episode of The Buzz which will air exclusively on Showmax on Wednesday, 6 October, 2021.
Meanwhile, as the curtain is gradually closing on this season, Biggie announced that the housemate who wins this week’s Head of House (HoH) gets the title of the last HoH till the next season.
For this week’s Monday HoH challenge, Big Brother brought back the dice roller with a total of five obstacles. The obstacles required the housemates to drink water, walk in a straight line with a balloon, kick a ball into a goal post, throw pillows into a hole, and tell the audience the advantages of water.
WhiteMoney did the honours of starting the game, but he was stopped by the obstacle of drinking water and walking in a straight line with a balloon. The HoH mat sent him back to step 15, which made him start all over again.
Cross went next with so much energy, and even though he landed on step 15, which made him start over, he still had enough time to recover. He made it to step 35, marking the end of the HoH mat with the BBNaija Eye. He finished in 2:45 seconds.
Emmanuel brought his calm yet competitive demeanor as he swiftly made his way to the end of the HoH mat too. Even though the football post obstacle stopped him, he still finished with a record time of 2:38 seconds, becoming the next housemate to complete the HoH challenge.
Biggie allowed last week’s HoH Liquorose to play with the rest of the housemates this time. She was however disrupted by the drinking water obstacle and as a result, Emmanuel became the winner of the challenge and the final HoH of the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye Season.
Elsewhere in the house, Angel and Pere were playing to win their spots in the top 5. Angel ended up with 56 points and Pere with 54 points, but because of the effort they both put in, Biggie rewarded them both with the chance to be in the finale along with Liquorose, Emmanuel, Cross and WhiteMoney.
