Controversies

Joan Celia Lee was charged with physically and verbally abusing her parents in 2017. Joan allegedly tried to choke her father and smashed him into his wheelchair, according to Stan’s former business manager Bradley J. Herman.

Joan was also violent to her mother when she was alive, according to Herman. Stan vehemently refuted the allegations, even adding that he wanted everyone “abused” him the way his daughter did. Stan also launched a lawsuit against Joan’s longtime business associate Jerry Olivarez, accusing him of influencing his decision to hand over the power of attorney. Jerry asked Stan to transfer the power of attorney to him, Stan informed the reporters.

Stan also accused Keya Morgan, one of Joan’s friends, of attempting to isolate him from his friends and family. In the final days of his life, he claimed that ever since his wife died, he had to fend off several people who were trying to take advantage of his money. He went on to say that Joan was the only one he trusted and that he had given her control over his finances.
