Honourable Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor has vent out his displeasure over Electoral Commission’s newly regulatory policies

The Member of Parliament for South-Dayi constituency, Hon Rockson Dafeamekpor on Monday, 6th February 2024 in a social media post criticized the Electoral Commission for introducing questionable electoral proposal process, claiming these regulations had the potential of disenfranchising persons who were qualified to participate in the elections.

Lawyer Rockson Dafeamekpor claimed that, the Electoral Commission’s proposal to make use of only the Ghana card as the means for which a citizen of Ghana could acquire a Voters Identification card was illegal as the constitution frowns on it.

“This EC has become senseless and lawless in it’s recent Electoral proposals. Only Ghana card for registration violates Regulation 1(a)(b) of CI 126, 2020.” He stated

In that same vein, Hon Rockson Dafeamekpor further ironed out other Electoral proposals which are to be introduced by the Electoral Commission which he wasn’t delighted about.

“Close of polls at 3pm violates Regulation 29 of CI 127, 2020. No utilization of indelible ink violates Regulation 33(2)(b) of CI 127.” Hon Rockson Dafeamekpor stated
