The Energy Minister, Hon Matthew Opoku Prempeh has responded to the call for a load-shedding time table from some Ghanaians

At the inauguration of the New Patriotic Party’s campaign team in the Ashanti Region on Monday 25th March 2024, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh reacted to all claims made by majority of Ghanaians being affected by the recent power outages being meted out by the Electricity Company of Ghana.

Dr Opoku Prempeh quizzed the citizenry for requesting for a load-shedding timetable which in his view, was not necessarily needed.

“Ask those who want it to bring it if there is. I haven’t seen any timetable. The ECG says that there is no timetable coming, why do you want to bring a timetable, for what purpose? Why would somebody wake up and wish evil an wish bad for the country? When it is not planned, you can’t tell the person.”

However, citizens and businesses have been hit had in a negative way as a result power outages in the last few weeks has especially for those residing in the capital city of Ghana.

The leading opposition political party, National Democratic Congress and majority of dignified members of the Ghanaian society have been calling out the Electricity Company of Ghana to publish a load-shedding timetable which clearly, has not been considered by the power providers.

Meanwhile, Dr Opoku Prempeh further assured Ghanaians, asserting to the fact that there is absolutely no cause for alarm and hence, their power will be restored in full capacity.
