Barbara Goldbach but widely known as Barbara Bach is an American actress and model who was born on the 27th of August 1947 in New York City, U.S. She was born to Howard Irwin Goldbach, a police officer of European Jewish heritage, and Majorie Mary Goldbach, an Irish homemaker. She is well known for her role as Bond girl Anya Amasova in The Soy Who Loved Me.
She attended all-girl Dominican Commercial High School in Jamaica, Queens, and graduated from there in 1964. She later shortened her name from Goldbach to Bach and began modeling professionally, appearing in catalogs and fashions magazines. Bach first married an Italian businessman Augusto, Count Gregorini di Savignano de Romagna.
They divorced in 1975 but were having two children, son Gianni and daughter Francesca. After her divorce, she married British musician Ringo Star, formerly of The Beatles, at Marylebone Town Hall on the 27th of April 1981.
Career
Batch worked with the Eileen Ford Agency in New York, appearing on catalogs and the front covers of several international fashion magazines such as seventeen (1965 and 1966) because she was one of the most sought-after faces of the 1960s.
She started her career in Italy when she played Nausicaa in L’Odissea in 1968, an eight-hour-long TV adaptation of Homer’s epic poem The Odyssey, directed by Franci Rossi and produced by Dino De Laurentis. She also starred in Black Belly of the Tarantula (a Giallo film) in 1972.
She also portrayed the Russian spy Anya Amasova in the James Bond film “The Spy Who Loved Me”. Bach co-founded the Self Help Addiction Recovery Program with Pattie Boyd.
