Information gathered by Xorlali.com indicates the Black Stars of Ghana will play one last friendly match against Botswana before finally moving to participate in the 2023 AfCON tournament.

The upcoming friendly match will be played on 8th January, 2023 and it will serve as a preparation for the upcoming AfCON tournament scheduled to be held in Ivory Coast.

The 2023 African Cup Of Nations (AfCON) tournament is scheduled to kick of 13th January and the Black Stars coach, Chris Houghton, is expected to release a final 27-man squad in the coming days before the team departs for camping.

The senior national team of Ghana will be camping in South Africa and most fans have expressed displeasure in the decision of the manager of the team to choose Johannesburg as their camping base when the actual tournament will be hosted in Ivory Coast, a neighboring country.

While the Black Stars move to South Africa for camping, Namibia will be preparing for the upcoming tournament in Ghana.

In the upcoming AfCON tournament, the Black Stars have been drawn in Group B and are expected to play against Egypt, Mozambique and Cape Verde in their opening matches before knowing what lies ahead of them in the tournament.

The senior national team of Ghana are aiming at winning their fifth AfCON trophy despite showcasing an extremely poor performance in the previous of the tournament that was held in Cameroon two years ago.
