Students of the University of Professional Studies Accra (U.P.S.A) and residents of Madina, Accra witnessed a very impactful Breast Cancer Screening and Awareness programme yesterday 29th October 2021 aimed at creating awareness about breast cancer and encouraging voluntary screening and examination.

This was under the auspices of the office of the Member of Parliament of Madina Constituency Hon. Francis Xavier Sosu in collaboration with the newly elected Executives of National Association of Public Health Students,Ghana led by the President Mr. Joel Afari.

Although the event received hordes of students and community people at the UPSA Hostel, the health professionals and volunteers were not overwhelmed by the huge numbers. It was so timely and revealing that some suspected cases of breast cancer were diagnosed for both males and females.

It has been an eye opener and learning experience for most students being informed by Mr.Joel Afari and team of health experts that breast cancer is not only an issue for females but for males of all forms.

Honorable Francis Xavier Sosu has equally reiterated his readiness and commitment to support people who may have been diagnosed with breast cancer and its complications at the program in his bit to empower students and constituents.

The gratitude of students and the community has been expressed to all involved including TEIN in making this a major success.
