India has hosted the 71st Miss World pageant after a 28-year-long hiatus. Contestants from 115 countries competed against each other to win the coveted crown. Last year’s winner, Miss World 2022 Karolina Bielawska of Poland crowned her successor Krystyna Pyszková of Czech Republic in a grand event at the Jio World Centre in BKC, Mumbai.
The beauty pageant was live-streamed on SonyLIV. The event will be broadcast in more than 140 countries and territories. This year, 22-year-old Sini Shetty, winner of Miss India World, represented India at the competition.
The Miss World competition features a diverse array of contests where beauty queens showcase their talents and abilities, engaging in friendly competition. The various competitions include:

Towards the culmination of the Beauty with a Purpose event, the reigning Miss World 2023, Karolina Bielawska, will pass on her crown to her successor. The event is set to be hosted by Karan Johar and Miss World 2013 Megan Young, adding glamour and charisma to the proceedings. Musical performances during the event were delivered by Neha Kakkar, Tony Kakkar, and Shaan.
A distinguished panel of judges, consisting of 12 members, plays a crucial role in evaluating the contestants. The judging panel includes notable personalities such as Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde, Sajid Nadiadwala, Harbhajan Singh, Rajat Sharma, Amruta Fadnavis, Vineet Jain, Julia Morley CBE, Jamil Saidi, and three former Miss Worlds, including Manushi Chhillar. Their collective expertise contributes to the fair and thorough evaluation of the participants, ensuring a memorable and exciting Miss World competition.
