Mason Greenwood

Mason Greenwood’s suspension was acknowledged by Manchester United on Friday, along with the departure of seven players from the team.

Recall that Greenwood was recently suspended by Man United after being accused of trying to rape a woman, acting in a controlling and coercive manner, and assault causing actual bodily harm.

But on February 2, the Crown Prosecution Service dropped those accusations after significant witnesses decided to end their cooperation.

Despite no longer being charged, Greenwood is still on administrative leave from Manchester United while an internal investigation into whether the 22-year-old was in breach of his contract and brought the Red Devils into disrepute is completed.

Meanwhile, Man United confirmed the departure of seven players, with defenders Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe among those leaving the club.

In addition to those two, Man United added: “Ethan Galbraith and Di’Shon Bernard are seeking new opportunities elsewhere after loan spells at Salford City and Portsmouth, respectively. Both made their first-team debuts for United in a 2019 Europa League clash against Astana in Kazakhstan.
