Originating from Asawasi a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region, Andy Nana Kwame Acheampong known in the music scene as 9tyNine has for as long as he can remember been very passionate about music. His early influence to music was Bob Marley, over the years as his interest in music developed, artiste such as Jay – Z, Kanye West, Wretch 32, J Cole, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Kojo – Cue have one way the other shaped his life when music is concerned.
Having graduated from St. Johns Grammar School, the budding artiste believes his current style of music is able to penerate the soul of whoever is listening. With songs such as “Lighter”, “Kumasi Biom”, and “2sides”, the budding artiste believes he is healing the world one song at a time.
“My current sound is pure vibes, trying to touch souls with my music, the goal is to make people aware that love still exists and we should stop acting like people don’t need it no more.”
