Roger Patoka Of Plover was born on August 31, 1959, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. After his parents died, he was raised by Maynard and Romona (Wroblewski) Patoka. He is their child. He grew up in Plover, right near Springville Pond, and has many good memories of growing up with his brothers and the other youngsters in the neighborhood. Stevens Point Area Senior High School awarded him his graduation in 1977.

Roger Patoka Of Plover married Sharon Iwanski, the girl he had loved since high school, on February 16, 1980, at the Newman University Parish, which was housed at the Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse Convent in Stevens Point.

Roger grew up loving and playing baseball, and his father was a regular coach for him in the local small league. He was a member of the American Legion Post 6 legion team and played for them for four years during his high school years.

Roger of Plover died suddenly on Thursday, October 19, 2017. Roger is survived by his wife Sharon, as well as his two kids, Kyle (Lori) of Green Bay, WI, and Kolin (special friend Chelsea Liesch) of Stevens Point.

His six siblings, Sandra (Michael) Pavelski, Brian Patoka, Lori (Tim) Buchkowski, all of Plover, survive him. Carol (William) Rudiger of Amherst, WI, Kim (Robert) Lawrence of Minneapolis, MN, and Jodi (William) Renfrow of Stevens Point, WI, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, survive.
