The United States President confirmed the death of Ayman al-Zawahiri, who succeeded Osama Bin Laden, in a drone strike on July 31, 2022, in Kabul, Afghanistan. From 2011 until his death in 2022, the 71-year-old was the leader of al-Qaeda.
