Biography of Adams Mahama
Adams Mahama born Adams Mahama is a Ghanaian politician born in Daboya in the North Region of Ghana. He is popularly known as Mahama Sakan. He was the former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Damango/Daboya constituency in the Northern Part of Ghana in the second parliament of the 4th republic of Ghana.
He went to elementary school and later went to Navrongo Secondary School and Tamale Secondary School. He also had his tertiary education in the University of Ghana and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Soil Science. He also holds a Master of Science Degree in Management and Implementation of Development Project from the UMIST and the Victoria University of Manchester.
He is married with about twelve children. His children are; Ishmael, Nafisha, Aisha, Nuhu, Yussif, Yussif, Hamid, Yasir, Gias, Ibrahim, Henry, and Aisha. Adams Mahama was once the Northern and Upper East Regional Agric Officer, he was the lead for Global 2000.
Political Career
Adms Mahama was elected in 1996 as the Member of Parliament for the Damango/Daboya constituency in the second parliament of the fourth republic of Ghana. He lost his seat in the 2000 election to Alex Seidu Sofo. He was a member of the National Democratic Congress also abbreviated as NDC.
He won his seat with 8,356 votes out of 17,604 valid votes cast, representing 47.47% of the total vote cast. He was elected over Alex Seidu Sofo of the People’s Convention Party, Abdulai Adams of the People’s National Convention and Skido Alhassan Ewuntomah of the National Convention Party.
