The Ministry of Education has announced that BECE graduates will be able to enroll in school before the end of February 2023.

Kwasi Kwarteng, the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer, stated this during a conversation with Roselyn Felli on Prime Morning on Monday.

According to him, the Ministry is working efficiently and expects to release the results by the end of February.

“The Ministry of Education is working very hard to make sure that we release the placement very soon. Hopefully, within the coming weeks, the placements should be ready.”

Adding to that, he stated that “the date has not been agreed upon yet, so I can’t be emphatic, but it’s surely going to be this February.”

He advised parents to begin planning for the purchase of provisions and other necessities for their children.

On behalf of the Ministry, he warned parents and BECE candidates not to pay large sums of money to individuals in order to gain admission to desired schools.

This was in response to “The Fourth Estate’s” “School placement for sale” exposé on corruption in the Computerised Selection School Placement System (CSSPS).

The documentary revealed how the system has been tainted by parents, guardians, and school placement officials making deals to place their wards in desired Senior High Schools.

Meanwhile, he has stated that the Ministry is reviewing the documentary and that appropriate action will be taken.

He also praised “The Fourth Estate” and JoyNews for their efforts in exposing such individuals.

Mr. Kwarteng has also urged parents, guardians, and candidates not to be concerned, stating that the exposé will have no impact on their school placement.
